  • What are Clearway’s business hours?
    Monday to Saturday: 8am – 5pm.  We are closed on Sunday and all statutory holidays.
  • Is my reservation guaranteed?
    Once confirmed, all reservations are 100% guaranteed.
  • What do I need to rent and/or operate a vehicle from Clearway?
    We require a valid driver’s licence and a major credit card, name on both must match. A minimum pre-authorization of $500 is required. All customers must be a minimum age of 21 years. Customers aged 21 to 24 may be required to pay a young drivers fee. Customers must be 25 years of age to rent SUV’s or Pick-Up Trucks.
  • Do I need a credit card to reserve or rent Clearway vehicles?
    Making a reservation requires a credit card ie. (American Express, Mastercard or Visa) Clearway requires a pre-authorized hold of a minimum $500 on your credit card which needs to be in matching name of your drivers licence at the time of rental. You may pay for the rental with cash, debit or credit card when the vehicle is returned. Prepaid, secured credit cards & Visa/Mastercard debit cards are not accepted when reserving or renting our vehicles.
  • What types of credit-cards are accepted?
    Acceptable cards for pre-authorization: Visa, MasterCard & American Express. We will not accept the following cards for pre-authorization but can be used to pay at the end of the rental:
    • Pre-Paid
    • Cash Cards
    • Charge Cards
    • Canadian Debit/Credit-Cards
  • Why is there a hold on my credit card and why does it take four to six business days to be removed?
    The hold on Clearway’s end is released right away once the rental agreement has been finalized. If you should still see a hold beyond this, please contact your credit card provider.
  • Do I need a special driver’s licence to rent Clearway vehicles?
    A Government-issued class 5 driver’s licence is required to rent our cars and trucks. A class 7N (Novice driver) is also allowed but the class 7L (Learner’s driver) is not allowed. If you are renting a 15-passenger van or a 25-passenger bus, you are required to have either a Government issued Class 1, 2 or 4 (Unrestricted) licence.
  • What if the driver is not the cardholder?
    The primary renter needs to have a valid drivers licence and credit card in their name. Additional drivers need to be in possession of a valid drivers licence.  Both the primary and additional driver have to come into the office at the time of pick up with their documents.
  • Can I pay ahead of time & have someone else pick up the vehicle?
    Yes, if the credit card holder comes into our office (no earlier than a week prior to your pickup date), we can do a pre-write of the rental agreement. If another person is picking up the rental, they will be required to show their driver’s licence at time of rental.
  • How do I get a copy of my receipt?
    Upon return on your vehicle, you will receive your receipt or if needed we will email it you.
  • What is your Cancellation & Modification Policy?
    Please contact our office at 1-844-4-CLEARWAY or see our terms & conditions page for more details. Rentals need to be cancelled or modified 72 hours before time of pickup or a penalty may be applied. Our cancellation policy may vary during our peak seasons and with some specialty vehicles.
  • If I don’t know my exact move date, can I still get a moving quote?
    If you aren’t sure of your exact move date, we recommend that you use an approximate date around the time you think you will be moving to give you a frame of reference. Rates vary based on supply and demand, equipment size, location and date. Rates cannot be guaranteed without exact date and timeframe.
  • If I have trouble with the vehicle, what should I do?
    In the event you experience problems, (during business hours, Monday – Saturday 8AM – 5PM) please contact your rental location to request Roadside Assistance. Abbotsford Rental Location: (604) 850-6522 – Chilliwack Rental Location: (604) 792-9934 – Langley Rental Location: (604) 534-1907 – After-hours, contact our Emergency Roadside Assistance number at 1-877-345-2010. Service is available 24/7, 365 days a year.
  • Where do I drop off my Clearway rental vehicle?
    The rental vehicle must be returned to the location that you picked it up from, unless authorized by a rental agent and clearly stated on the rental agreement. One way drop fees may apply.
  • Where do I return the rental vehicle & keys after hours?
    After business hours, you can use our key drop-off box located near the front entrance door. Please ensure not to park in front of the gate.
  • What if I get a parking violation during the rental?
    Customers are responsible for any violations they receive during their rental period. If we receive the notice of ticket(s), the violation amount along with a processing fee is processed on the credit card provided at the time of rental or upon receipt of ticket.  The customer will be informed immediately.
  • What if I need to keep the vehicle longer than reserved?
    The rental agreement is for a specific period as agreed to. It is your responsibility to return the vehicle on or before the return time on the rental agreement. However, we realize that unforeseen events can affect your plans. If it is necessary to return a vehicle late, please immediately contact the rental location to verify availability.
  • Are there any special business rates available for frequent/long-term rentals?
    Clearway offers special business rate programs. This is a good option for both small and corporate businesses who need to move either commercial products and/or persons. We carry a variety of vehicles such as moving trucks and vans as well as cars, SUV’s and large passenger vehicles.
